Justin Zagri - Director

I first used a tape-based editing system in high school and found it incredibly fulfilling. Then one day my parents bought a DVD player and rented a copy of Fight Club. After I saw that movie, everything changed.

I spent a month at New York Film Academy cementing my passion as a director. I got my Bachelors of Fine Arts from Columbia College Hollywood. Soon after, I started making films.

I took an unusual route by making Harry Potter fan films, knowing they would get more attention than more original content at film festivals. My first attempt ‘The Greater Good’ was a much bigger success than I anticipated, gaining over 12 million views so far and earning me a fan base of over 100,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel Broad Strokes Productions.

With my writing partner and wife Liana Minassian, we raised over 30,000 dollars to create our next fan film, Severus Snape and the Marauders. It currently has 12 million views, was reviewed by Entertainment Weekly, MTV, BBC, BuzzFeed and more, and won Best of Fest for almost every single festival it played at for GeekFest traveling film festival 2018.

I’m currently developing a horror feature film titled POWERLESS, which is based on my experiences with Multiple Sclerosis. You can see the proof of concept here!
